Mommy Milkshare

Hello breastfeeding mommies out there!

PRODUCT REVIEW: Nutri10 PLUS (Sports Active Formula)

Vitamin is very important to our children. I  believe that fruits and green leafy vegetables also helps  give more nutrients than food supplements (which is why they're called supplements in the first place, lol), However, my ZD very hard to feed him, he's a picky eater - if he doesn't like the food he'd spit it out. So, sometimes, no matter how much we like it, food may not be able to supply or serve the complete food pyramid every day to our kids.

That's why I used food supplement for my zd boy.

PRODUCT REVIEW:  Nutri10 PLUS (Sports Active Formula)

Last month, my close friend, Nilyn told me that she will give me a vitamin, this vitamin is a sample she got from Wert Philippines though MBP (Mommy Bloggers PH). It is called NUTRI10 PLUS. Nutri10 Plus is a Sports active formula, So was so excited for ZD to try it out.

WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT NUTRI10 PLUS?

Oh well, I heard that this product is really good but it is so sad to say that my ZD boy has allergic reaction to this vitamins. Last Sunday morning, I had ZD try the vitamins for the first time. After an hour of taking Nutri10 Plus, there were fine rashes that were showing from his head to his neck.

I thought it's just a normal rashe or 'bugang araw" because it was very hot inside the church that day and we don't have an AC there. So I thought about just giving him a quick bath and  I know it will disappear. The next day (his 2nd day of taking the vitamins), I gave him a bath and put powder on him, after an hour the fine rashes got worse after having him take Nutri10 Plus again, and the rashes spread fast on his back. So right hen I there, I knew it was an allergy he got from the Nutri10 Plus.

I'm already aware about ZD's allergic reactions of some products because his pedia already told me the symptoms that I should watch out for. So I decided to stop it.

But we know, each child is different so the vitamins that doesn't work for my ZD may work best for your child. So I'd like to encourage other mommies out to give this vitamins a try. Who knows, this can be the vitamins you've been looking for.

WHERE TO BUY?
Nutri10 is now available in all leading drugstores.

Love is in the little things...

Hey there!

I'm  just inspired of this post from BrightSide.me and decided to share it 'coz I can really relate to this, it makes my heart smile. After seeing this, I suddenly missed my seafarer husband because most of the illustrations here are the things my husband does to me. Every time we're together, were always like this.

So, I hope you these will inspired too because love is in the little things...And we're not complete without it!

Love is in the little things...

The Korean artist "Puuung" has produced some really sweet, heart-warming illustrations which bring out simple, but very important details of how we express love for our partners in our everyday lives. Love is in the little things — and when we had a look at these drawings, we at BrightSide.me once again became convinced of this.
And so, love means...

Hugging for no particular reason

Covering one another up with a blanket

Falling asleep together

Cooking together

Watching TV together until late

Doing nothing together

Falling asleep on each other’s shoulders

Looking at old photographs together

Caring for each other

                            Brushing our teeth together

Baking tasty treats

Helping one another

Thinking about each other

Singing together

Loving each other

and
PRAYING each other :)

ZACH DEUEL CENTINO SANCHEZ

Hi world, meet my ZD boy! :)

Zach Deuel C. Sanchez

  "Zach Deuel Centino Sanchez".
We come up with Zach Deuel because it is a biblical name. "Zach" is from the name ZACCHAEUS which means "pure", "innocent"  pinutol lang namin haha! kasi pag buo masyado nang mahaba and "DEUEL" means ('knowledge of God') galing nuh? He is now 16 months and he is a happy and very active baby boy!

(1 year Old, before his birthday picture)

ZD boy is white, and is a very active baby boy. He is now 17 months old. He is the greatest gift from God for us and all the sacrifices and hardship are paid off when ZD boy came in our life. His smile always brings comfort to  me and makes my heart happy. Even his papa is too far from us, he's like in our side because he really looks like his papa :)

I would like to share my challenges and experiences about my ZD boy after a year of being a SAHM to my baby boy!

(Labor and Birth)

I can still remember (and will always do) the day I gave birth to my precious son ZD. My husband left in the Philippines because of his work when our baby was 7 months in my womb so I gave birth to my son without my husband in my side, it's one of the challenges that a seafarer's wife has to expect.

During my pregnancy, I always prayed to God that I can deliver my son normally like others mothers. That's why I exerted a lot of efforts doing walking exercises everyday. When my pre-labor started, my doctor gave me a capsule for me to help my cervix open, and I also ate a lot of pineapple because I read some books and search it that  it also helps to open the cervix.

During my Pregnancy Period

My Pre-term Labor:
My Pre-term labor begins on March 16, 2014. my cervix started to dilate and I can feel the contractions are quite painful. I was uncomfortable at night and I couldn't sleep. The next morning, I started to walk from 6am-7am. I also noticed an increase in mucus vaginal discharge, which may be tinged with brown like a flour  but it is not a blood. My doctor told me that we will wait for my active labor.

at E.R  just arrived from home :) (Nakasmile pa ako lol)

My First stage of Labor:
On March 22, I couldn't sleep for the whole night because the contractions are coming at relatively regular intervals like 2X in every 3 hours. I called my doctor again and she said just relax it is not an active labor yet, she give me an advice and instructions to what to do, and I packed my things and needs for the hospital.

Active Labor! Where's my smile now?? hahaha!!!

Active Labor
On March 23, in the morning I woke up early in the morning doing my daily routine like exercise and walking, cooking, cleaning the house, take a bath. In the evening of that day, I felt something different - the interval of contractions are getting closer, its about 6 contractions in an hour. So my sis-in-law told me that we should go to the hospital already because I'm in the active labor. But I told her, "pwede matulog muna ako, para maka-ipon ako ng lakas mamaya?". But suddenly, the contractions were getting faster, I went to the bathroom and I prepared myself then we went to the hospital.

At the hospital the nurse checked everything until my active labor. The nurses brought me to the delivery room around 11pm but I was still 1cm dilated. They waited until my water bag would break but nothing happened, because everytime na nagcocontract ako umiihi ako at yon na pala ang water ko.

On March 24, around 3am the heart beat of my ZD went down from 165-60. OMG! Yes that's right, And from time to time they monitored my heartbeat also. This is the advantage when you admit in a private hospital because of the complete facilities and di ka talaga pababayaan. My obgyn decided to conduct an emergency CS due to the condition of my baby. When they said na "ma'am cs na daw po kayo kasi ayaw po talaga mag open ng cervix nyo.", I started to chill. When they bought me in the operating room my mind just kept praying that Lord would help me, bless me and also guide the doctors and help my baby. When I heard the voice of my doctor my I felt safe, so I didn't worry that much. I am so grateful that the operation was very successful! Thank you Lord.

Right after giving birth, kamukha sya ng lolo nya hahahaha!!

My first glimpse of my ZD :)
Right after my ZD came out, the midwife brought him to me but I couldn't touch him because they needed to fix my wounds, but I was able to see him because I was still awake, yes, I was, until my OBGyn finally finished everything, as in gising na gising ako hanggang nilipat na ako sa OB room lol!

Right After my CS Operation, Thank you Lord, Success!!!

Finally my baby is okay after 9 months in my womb I can see him, kiss him, and hug him. ZD was so cute, and he was very white! I couldn't believe that my son was very white, the midwife asked me if the baby's father was a foreigner. Haha! But actually, its in our genes, in my father's side. All the sleepless nights, the pains the eye bags are paid off when I saw my ZD boy.

My firsts to ZD: First touch, kiss, and hug!!! (Haggard lang ang mukha hehehe)

Breast Milk is the best for baby!  (Pump muna then dropper but after 3 hrs napadede  ko na sya)

Welcome to the world ZD boy!

What cute baby eyes :) I love it much :)

The challenges of being  SAHM to ZD
Being a SAHM to zd is very challenging for me, first because I consider myself as a single mom because my husband is not with me during my labor moments when our ZD boy was coming. Additionally, CS-section makes it very hard to move and to carry my baby. But I had no choice. On my 2nd day after labor my sis-in-law went home to visit her children in school, (kasi sya lang mag-isa ang nagbantay sa akin may mga anak din sya na iniwan sa bahay at studyante pa, thank you ate). So I was alone to make my foods, milk and nurse my baby. I thank the Lord because on the 3rd day we were discharged in the hospital then my recovery was so fast.

After 7 days I could already do the laundry, clean and cook. On the 14th day after my CS I was able to go to the hospital to visit my OBGyn and even to Gaisano mall to buy groceries. When my ZD got sick all night I just watch him and check his temperature. And being a first time mom, kunting lagnat, sipon or ubo kinakabahan na agad ako, dala agad sa Pedia nya. Then ZD boy is very sensitive that's I'm very careful for everything.

1 month zd boy. Cuteness overload

When Zd boy was 1-4 months old di masyadong nakakapagod kasi di pa sya masyadong malikot and I'm so very thankful kay Lord because he's not a crying baby. He's always smiling, hehe. He'd only cry if he gets hurt. But when turned 5 months until now, whew! Sobrang hyper ng ZD namin!

He is soooo active, very talkative and is always smiling. And he loves catching something and put it in his mouth.

It is true that only mother has patience for their children, and the most challenging for me now is ZD hyperactivity, he loves walking anywhere, then he imitates whatever you do and say, when you tell him, "NO THAT'S BAD", then he will also say, mas malakas pa at with galit effect na "NO!NO!NO! BAAD!! that's why we replace that word to "NO ZD BOY, THAT'S NOT GOOD".

In Discipline, it is also a very hard for me because at their very young age they show their attitude problem already. Example, when you say NO! lumalaban sya.

2 months old  mas lumalaki ang SMILE

3 months old  mas lumalaki ang SMILE

The lessons I learned after being a SAHM for more than a year

Being a SAHM for more than a year, I learned a lot of lessons from giving birth to him until now.

1. Prayer - Prayer is the best thing that we can do being a mom, we can do nothing without God. He sustains my strength over my super active baby, he gives me more courage and more wisdom on how to take good care my ZD alone.

2. Patience - More patience specially in your baby, to avoid shouting to your baby, to avoid hurting him.

3. Relax and Chill - Being a single mom I'd always get worried if I feel that there's something wrong. What I can advise to first time mothers like me is: "don't panic just relax and think", because if you will panic you will not able to think of the right solution. If you don't what to do, don't forget to ask those experienced moms or ask your mother. Reading about parenting tips online also helps a lot.

4. Being alert & watchful - ZD is very active that's why i'm always alert and watchful to him to avoid accidents. In everything we do we should be watchful to our children.

5. Always Love and talk to your husband - now that we have a baby, I noticed that my love for my husband is deeper than before we had a son. Although, on the first to 3 months we keep adjusting on each other, we had misunderstandings and arguments, but thank God because of those quarrels, our relationship was tested and strengthened. Talking to your husband about all your activity helps to release all your stress and pressure.

Zd is so maharot, til now. hahahaha

My advice to moms like me:
All I can say is that love your children, pray for  them always. A child is like a "TABULA RASA" or "Blank slate"  that individuals are born without built-in mental content and that therefore all knowledge comes from experience or perception. A new born baby’s mind is like a tabula rasa which can be then shaped into whatever you desire by training or teaching. Mother is the first teacher. We should be careful as a mother in what we do, what we say, kasi lahat ng nakikita sa bata sa atin kahit yan ay masama ay tama sa paningin ng bata.

To all first time moms like me, don't panic and always chill. Everything will be okay! That's the key for you to think better for solutions to any problems. Be careful for the products that you're giving your child always ask and consult your Pediatrician because babies are very sensitive. Don't ever compare your child to the other child because every child is unique and different. Sometimes if there are things that we cant understand, don't hesitate to ask for those who are older than you.

 That Look!

I think he wants to be a basketball player someday :)

Lessen Stress at School with the new “amino Fres-C”

School is a wonderful place to explore and learn new things but parents are well-aware that this place can also be a major source of stress for kids. A school day begins and ends with passing through bumpy roads and enduring slow-moving traffic. Kindergarteners are not excused from pushing trolleys that carry heavy loads. Students have to juggle various seat works, assignments, recitations and quizzes for 8-9 subjects. In a nutshell, going to school is eternally beneficial but it is hard work!

Parents can instill the value of diligence and patience to lessen the hurdles kids face at school. Feed them with knowledge that can widen their understanding and sharpen their minds. Be involved in their school life. Assist in checking if assignments and projects are done correctly and completely and be on guard for any emotional or physical traumas they might be experiencing within and outside school premises. Extracurricular activities can also help build self-esteem and develop healthy social life for most school children as they learn to interact with other people.

Amino Fres-C comes with mango, orange and pineapple flavors
Being sick or sickly is a big burden to students as they need the strength and energy to keep up with the daily demands of school. Exercise and good diet are essential in maintaining physical well-being. Parents must take time to engage their kids in fun physical activities and prepare delicious and healthy meals.

Responsible parents naturally go for safe and quality ingredients, but to make meals more enjoyable and nourishing for school children, they need to introduce variety of food ingredients and expand cooking methods from only frying to also sautéing, steaming, blanching and boiling. If frying is unavoidable, it is recommended to observe proper frying temperature (365-375'F) to decrease oil absorption. Test by dropping a small piece of food into the oil; the temperature is right if the piece of food rises above the oil within 3-5 seconds.

The new “amino Fres-C” Instant Juice Drink Mix is a great addition to kids’ baon. This is the only powdered juice drink that is packed with Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAA) with Glutamine and Arginine. These specific amino acids are building blocks of protein that maintain energy levels, support muscle growth and repair, and toughen immune system – making this drink perfect for sustaining kids’ demanding schedule at school. “amino Fres-C” is 70% less calories compared to other juice brands, so they get to enjoy the real fruit taste of its orange, pineapple and mango variants, without the unnecessary calories. The new “amino Fres-C” is available in local supermarkets for only PhP 8.00 per 1 liter pack.

Try to complement “amino Fres-C” fruit juice with these tasty and healthy baon recipes from Ajinomoto:

Our Voyage Part 2 - CEBU :)

Cebu City is my hometown, it's where I was born too at lumipat kami noong 5 yrs old palang ako. After  a decade, bumalik kami doon with my ex boyfriend na  husband kuna ngaun, kasama din ang mga close friends namin sa church.

On April 2011, our church, the Grace Gospel Church of Christ, Things to Come Mission Philippines  celebrated its National Annual Workers Conference, at ang venue ay sa Cebu City. So were very excited to attend this big event because we will visit Cebu city together. And we were very happy kasi nakahanap kami ng murang ticket (nakalimutan kuna kung magkano yun hehe! So here we go, I would like to share with you our 2nd part of our adventure in Cebu!
Terminal-3 NAIA with my Friends Daniel, Grace, Lemuel (My husband), and Nilyn
In short walang kill joy sa amin :)

Its was hard for us to buy a ticket because some of us were either jobless or studying but thank God because He provides :). Kung may gusto maraming paraan, kung ayaw maraming dahilan! Agree?
Yay! Welcome to Cebu City!!!

As far as I can remember, our budget was at 7k each. That amount went to the fare back and forth, (plane papunta, pero nagbarko na kami pag-uwi namin), Registration 1500, plus allowance. But because we were very thrifty, before we went there we were planning na wag nalang kami mag register at maghanap nalang kami ng church para matulugan namin doon. At mag-ambag ambag nalang kami for our food. We were able to save half of the registration fee! Naging 700 each lang ang ambagan namin for food for 3 days and 3 nights pero hindi naman kami nagluluto lagi kasi every morning lang kami nagluluto for our breakfast then lunch at dinner sa labas lang kami kumakain.

Our First Night & Dinner
When were arrived at Lapu-lapu City we're very hungry because it's already 6pm or 6:30pm, and you know na, pag sa byahe nakakagutom talaga lalo na pag malayo ang pinanggagalingan. And para kaming nakawala sa kabihasnan, hehe. that's why naghanap kaagad kami ng pwede naming makainan, we walked in the streets to find something to eat and amazingly we found a very good deal! The street lechon manok only 100 pesos, the "Puso" (a cooked rice covered by leaves of coconut) for only 3 pesos each, then the yummy barbecue! You won't believe it, at Php 50, busog na busog kana, at may sabaw pa!

After our dinner we still had time to visit the Lapu-lapu park. It's a beautiful park, there you will see the famous Lapu-Lapu monument and some history about that place. We have some fun at mga trip that na nakakaloka, hehe!

Lapu-Lapu Park Photos:
Hahaha! Sorry ganito lang talaga kami :P
My Love :)
Can't stop laughing kasi nanghila ng mga bata sa Park just to take a pause & have a picture with them lol!
Lapu-Lapu Museum
After our visit in Lapu-lapu Park, bumalik kami sa church para makapag set-up ng tent. All the girls slept on the tent while the boys were on the other side but without tent. Were so blessed because the host pastor of the church was very accommodating at welcome na welcome kami don at feel at home kami. Every morning we'd wake up early for our devotion, then prepare for our breakfast then we'd commute going to our conference venue, medyo malayo sa church naglalakad pa kami to highway then sakay ng tricycle. Every morning and evening lang kami umaatend ng worship services and lectures in the morning then afternoon gala kami anywhere na malapit lang sa venue namin.

This is the Church & were ready to go, our first day!
The Venue of our Workers Conference
Mang Inasal, SM Cebu, (Lunch time)
After the lectures and business meeting, we went to SM City Cebu for our lunch and we found out na napakamura lang ng Mang Inasal dun! It's only 79 pesos with unlimited rice.

For us to get there we needed to take a boat para  mas mabilis at masaya ang aming paglalakbay.

From Lapu-lapu to Mactan
The Magellan shrine

The Magellan shrine is a large memorial tower erected in 1866 in honor of the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan. The spot is believed to be the area where Magellan was killed in the Battle of Mactan on 1521, Philippines. The monument measures 30 metres high and it is located in the place of Punta Engaño, Mactan Island, Cebu. (Source: Wikipedia)

Magellan's Cross

After the Mactan, we bought some fruits and foods for our baon and nakadaan kami sa maliit na Park, tumambay muna kami at don kumain, nagbonding at nagpicture picture.

We all love fruits, so there...

Happy Couples :)

SM MALL & LAPU-LAPU MALL

Things that I love during this adventure:
 1. Time - Back then, we had all the time in the world! We can't bring the time from the past, it was a lot different back when we're single and now we have already a family and son.

2. Bonding- Bonding is anywhere, but to have a bonding like this is different it's very special for us. Because we able to met our old friends, old relatives from different place, and meeting new friends.

3. Lessons - We learned a lot of lesson there, specially the Word of God, the lectures, it also help us to strengthen our relationship with God.

4. Amusement - To be able to see and experience something new is the awesomest of all! (I'm saying awesomest because awesome isn't enough to describe it, lol!).
