SPLASH Your Summer at Splash Island!!

I know this is very late since the summer is done and it's already a rainy days. But it's not too late to post and share our Splash experienced last summer in Splash Island!

When my husband was still in Braszil going to Singapore for their last port, we talked about Splash Island since his sister would visit us here in Manila, so we decided to treat them in Splash Island and also treat it as our gift for his pamangkin's 8th birthday!

My husband has a friend there whose house is fortunately near the Splash Island so thank God, may matutulugan kami. We arrived there in the evening. After our breakfast we were all excited to go to Splash Island.

Splash Island is located in Southwoods Ecocentrum Binan, Laguna, Philippines. Splash Island is the water park's family-friendly layout is set up with 17 thrilling attractions, the fantastic wave pool called Agos Grandes, stately palm trees, a water playground, and water. The park's most popular attraction, the Rio Montanosa, is a new breathtaking mountain high river raft ride that delivers its riders the ultimate thrill. Go tubular in the Big Bam Boo, a covered tunnel slide that leads straight into pure excitement. The King Pilipit, a swirling slide that is under rising pressure until a final drop dumps you in a pool,

Lemuel and I we paid 500.00 each for entrance for all-day pass to Splash Island, and we've got discounted for our 5 companions - thanks to our friend who has discount coupons. If you're a residence there, you get 50% off. Bit it is case to case basis according to them.

This is the entrance, if you notice at the back, it says that "NO" food and drinks are allowed inside. So that so sad, because the price of their foods inside is very expensive. Yeah, promise! So if you're going there, my advice is eat a lot and drink a lot of water then don't bring any foods at baka pagsisihan mo lang. Even the 1 glass of gulaman there na 10 pesos lang outside it's 50 pesos and also 1 piece of corn it also 50 pesos. Whoa that price!!!!

From the entrance going inside the water park you will see the Souvenir shop and they have a lot of beautiful souvenirs there if you want, and also if you want to rent cottages also those available.
Nipa Hut- 1000.00, Family Hall good for 20-50 pax - 3000.00, for 50-100 pax- 5000.00, Aircon Cabana- 1,200 + 300 key deposit, Hawaiian 1 and 2 - 5000.00 + 500 Key deposit + I.D, Tree House-5000.00 + 500 Key deposit + I.D.

The Splash Island guide map. Then they also have scheduled map for each water mark leisure. So you need to be in a hurry because if you will not, baka di mo ma enjoy, because for example in the Big Bamboo slide it will open only in 1 hour after that wala na, plus ang haba haba pa ng pila. I only enjoyed the 3 Big slides there because our time na consume nalang sa pagpipila :( supper sayang!

Balsa River- One of my zd's fave, he likes it and di sya magsasawang bumalik balik dito.

Balsa River

Look at that little guy, he really enjoyed the water :)

The Rio Grande

Kuya Mj (Agos Grande)

Indeed that was a great, breath taking and joyful experienced. Thank you to my husband for this great experience and also to his friend. Though it's expensive, we cannot buy experience and happiness, specially to kids who really did enjoy this trip.

Cons:
* Foods and water are not allowed inside
* No Free Wifi (You have to pay to able to connect to their Wifi inside the water park)
* Foods, water are too expensive and also their cottages and locker
* The water is itchy, I think it's because of the numbers of people there.
* Time for pila is too long and the hour of opening is short. I think 1 hour or 1 hour and half is not enough. Nakakabitin at para kang nag aamazing race - you needed to hurry para mapuntahan mo lahat ng attractions nila.

Pros:
* The place is beautiful
* Experience and bonding wise, it's perfect
* If you're a first timer like me, you will be amazed at the place
* They are very strict and they will assure your valuable things secured on their locker.

If you have plan to visit this place you may avail of their tickets online through MetroDeal they have also discount their and also you might buy their ticket on the counter inside the resort.

2016 Summer Gala & Park Adventures!

Oh my, it's been a long time since I last blogged! I've been so busy because my husband finally came home :) (Ayeee, heart! heart). Since we're so busy it is also hard for me to update and visit my blog, so I missed bloggin. But right now I just wanted to share with you why I'm so busy last summer!

First, my sister in-law visited us here in Manila from Misamis Occidental and stayed here for almost one month with her daughter and son. While waiting for my husband I was able to bring my sis in-law at the parks near in our place. Her children were very happy because it's also their first time here in Manila to explore and experience new things that they never experienced in Mindanao. Seeing them while wondering what Manila is, I'm so grateful and I feel that they were really enjoying the place.

Wild Life in Quezon City

This park is near our place and the entrance fee is only eight pesos for adults and five pesos for children and students. This is a great park for family and children, good for relaxation and bonding. The environment is very nice I love the view and the animals inside the Park. Our our children were able to enjoy listening to the sounds of the animals like birds, monkey, snake and more. This park had also has fish ponds and you will able to experience fishing but you have to pay fist. We arrived in the place late in the afternoon so we're not able to visit the other animals inside this park because 4pm was the cut off time, but it's okay at least we really enjoyed the place.

Quezon City Circle
After the Wild Life, we also visited the Quezon City Circle, since both places are just near. As many of us know, QCMC has no entrance fee and there's a play ground there for children, my toddler and my husband's pamangkin enjoyed biking and playing slides.
During the night you might also able to see their dancing water fountain located in the center of the circle.

Of course after that tiring walking, playing and hopping we're so hungry and that's why we want Ice cream here in Coconut house with their home made Pizza.

Quezon City Eco Park
This is one of my favorite parks in Quezon City, we are able to walk inside their forest even if it's raining but we're enjoying the place. I love the view and ambiance when we're inside the forest. I told them that "it looks like we're in the province right"? My toddler did enjoy this experience and we had our Mini picnic there while naka umbrella kasi umuulan :)

Rizal Park Luneta
Luneta is a historical urban park in the Philippines. Located along Roxas Boulevard, Manila, adjacent to the old walled city of Intramuros, it is one of the largest urban parks in Asia.
It has been a favorite leisure spot, and is frequented on Sundays and national holidays. Rizal Park is one of the major tourist attractions of Manila.

We're so excited, specially the kids because they really wanted to visit the Rizal Park in Luneta. When we arrived there, my zd bear wanted to run anywhere so I let him run and enjoy the park. They rode the train, my zd bear was addicted to the train, he really cried out after riding the train because he wanted to ride again.
After riding the mini-train we are able to walk and my zd bear had a great time exploring this wide area and enjoying the place.
zd bear the explorer :)
It was really a great experience, thanks to these fun-filled parks visit with my sis-in-law. Through this parks adventure, we're able to explore, enjoy new ambiance and had new experiences. We're not just enjoying the place but we had beautiful memories to remember specially the kids and they are also learning from this experience.

Did you visit the parks? Where? Did you enjoy it?

Goldilocks 50th Birthday Caravan in EK

When I was in college, two of my faves in Goldilocks were the dinuguan with puto and their fresh Lumpia. Until now I still love that food and also their Casava cake. What I love about
Goldilocks is that most of their foods are home made Filipino and it's very special. Their cakes are all time Filipino faves because they're so affordable!

June 2, 2016 was far of the biggest and important events of Goldilocks because it's 50th birthday! Through Mommy Bloggers Philippines we are blessed to have been invite and witness the Goldilocks 50th birthday Caravan in Enchanted Kingdom Laguna.

Only 50 mommies were invited for their 2nd day celebration. They provided us our transporation from Shaw Blvd. to E.K Laguna (Back and forth)  with free snacks. When we arrived in the meeting place where the buses were parked, there were lots of Goldilocks employees who were also
coming with us so I got more excited..

Our leader (A.K.A our kalog na tourist guide hahahha!)  welcomed us in our
Bus and gave us some instructions and loot bags and also with short but fun games. While on our way to E.K we had fun because our guide has a sense of humor plus the mommies are kalog also and wants some hugot lines from our guide hahahah!

We arrived at E.K before twelve noon and our guide gave us our tickets. We're so happy because they provided us two (2) tickets for companions and worth of 200 pesos ticket or coupons money that for us to buy foods inside the E.K..

Our E.K Entrance Tickets, Coupons and Name Tag

Before going inside, we had a chance to have our group pictures infront of our bus and here we are!!!!

The Beautiful Mommy Bloggers Philippines!!!!

Then, after that we went inside E.K. The activities started and lasted for 2 hours. The was opened with the President of Goldilocks giving his welcome address, followed by games done by the invited guest, Daniel Alliermo, the Showtime Kalokalike winner. We had so much
fun, we keep laughing coz they entertained us so well, we even forgot that it's already 2pm  and we were without lunch hahahha! After that they also had dance numbers from crew dancers of E.K. Kids also had a dance numbers and finally, a dance number from the E.K mascots.

Lemuel my husband and Zd bear our son :)

The program ended with singing us the song happy birthday and blowing the candles then eating our lunch!

Blowing the Candles!!!!!
After that we started o exploring E.K and our first ride was the Roller Coaster. On my first glance of this coaster, it never came to my mind that I would try to ride, yeah I have experienced riding roller coaster in Paskong Pasiklab before in Philcoa (U.P Ayala land na ngayon) and also in star City but those roller coasters are not as huge as this, but I was surprised when Nilyn in Above Precious Rubbies told me that "let's  ride" my heart was started to beat faster until we get there, OMG!! while we're in that climax moment, I really wanted to vomit na because busog na busog ako that time plus I'm chilling but thank God finally I conquered and end with the pale face! Whew!

Our little kiddos were also enjoying this adventure and I'm so happy for them :)

NEWS RELEASE: HERBALIFE NUTRITION

Herbalife’s Nutrition At Work Survey Reveals                                             Majority of Philippines’ Workforce Lead Largely Sedentary Lifestyles, Putting them at Risk of Obesity

Fifth Herbalife Asia-Pacific Wellness Tour seeks to address health issues associated with sedentary lifestyles, and deepen practical understanding on the benefits of a healthy, active life.

PHILIPPINES, April 25, 2016 – Herbalife, a global nutrition company, has released the findings of the new Nutrition At Work Survey, which revealed that the majority of Philippines’ workforce leads largely sedentary lifestyles, putting them at risk of obesity. The Survey1, which was designed to understand the lifestyle habits and attitudes of Asia Pacific’s modern workforce, was conducted in March with 5,500 full-time workers in 11 Asia-Pacific markets, including 500 workers from the Philippines.

According to the survey findings, almost nine out of 10 (85%) workers in the Philippines spend at least six hours a day sitting at their desk, with 52% of its workforce eating lunch at their work desk two to five times per week. The survey also revealed that majority of Philippines’ workforce (86%) exercise less than three times per week, with five out of 10 getting less than 30 minutes of physical activity a day at their workplace. This suggests a significantly worrying trend locally, on the back of rising obesity rates recorded in recent years.

Nevertheless, the risk of obesity could be averted if workers in the Philippines decide to take control over their own nutritional intake and exercise regimen. Close to eight out of 10 workers (75%) affirmed that they strive to live a healthy, active life, however, the majority of them noted that they find it difficult to stay active during workdays.

“With a majority of Philippines’ workforce leading largely sedentary lifestyles, our mission as a global nutrition company is to help people in the Philippines take practical steps towards leading healthy, active lives. By inculcating positive nutrition and active lifestyle habits to people in the Philippines, we hope that this will, over time, help reduce obesity risks and lead to positive improvements to the well-being of our people,” said Mr. Rosalio Valenzuela, General Manager of Herbalife Philippines.

Aimed at addressing health issues associated with sedentary lifestyles, and deepening practical understanding on the benefits of healthy, active lifestyles, Herbalife launched its fifth Asia Pacific Wellness Tour 2016, held in the months of April and May. The latest edition of the Wellness Tour builds upon the successes of the past four tours that welcomed more than 80,000 participants across the region, and features a host of medical symposiums, talks and workshops led by seven experts from Herbalife’s Nutrition Advisory Board (NAB), covering 26 cities across Australia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Macau, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Gary Small, M.D. has recently visited the country and shared his expert views on digital dementia and brain aging at the “A Smart Way to Healthy Aging: A Talk by Gary Small, M.D.” event. Dr. Small, a specialist in brain health and aging, has authored over 500 scientific works and received numerous awards and honors, including the "Senior Investigator Award" from the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry.

During the talk Dr. Small addressed health and nutrition related issues associated with sedentary lifestyles and share practical tips on how today’s workforce can live healthier lives by making simple changes to their daily lifestyles. Health and medical professionals, academics, as well as the general public have also engaged in lively dialogues with Dr. Small at the event, and had the chance to network with like-minded professionals through the Herbalife Asia-Pacific Wellness Tour platform.

Rounding up the team of Herbalife NAB experts who have participated in the Asia-Pacific Wellness Tour are:
·         Dr. David Heber, chairman of the Herbalife Nutrition Institute and Nutrition Advisory Board. A leading expert in the field of nutrition, named as one of “The World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds” by Thomson Reuters in 2014 and repeatedly included in “The Best Doctors in America”.
·         Dr. Chin-Kun Wang, an expert in metabolism and nutrition, with a focus on the clinical evaluation of nutritional supplements, nutraceuticals, functional foods and herbs. He was awarded the National Award of Biomedicine in Taiwan in 2008 for his contribution to medical education.
·         Dr. Julian Alvarez Garcia, a specialist in sports medicine and sports physiology who has advised professional teams, national teams and individual athletes on a range of disciplines including weightlifting, triathlons, mountain biking, football and basketball.
·         Dr. Darren Burgess, an expert in sports science and nutrition who has authored papers in multiple peer review journals. He is also the current Head of High Performance at Port Adelaide Football (AFL) Club, and the former Head of Fitness and Conditioning at Liverpool Football Club.
·         Dr. Nataniel Viuniski, an expert in pediatrics and nutrition who has authored “Childhood Obesity – A Practical Guide”. He is also currently an advisor to Brazil's Health and Education Ministry for Childhood Obesity.
·         Dr. Francis Gregory Samonte, one of the Philippines’ premier experts in pediatric neurology, and the first Filipino appointed to the NAB. He was a recipient of the Chairman’s Achievement Award from the University of Louisville, Kentucky’s Department of Pediatrics.

The NAB experts were also joined by Dr. Luigi Gratton, Herbalife’s vice president of nutrition education and development, who has written numerous articles on nutrition and obesity, and has appeared on television speaking on nutrition, anti-aging medicine, sports nutrition and other medical topics.

“With each new edition of the Wellness Tour, we are seeing an increasing number of people gain practical knowledge to lead better lives. We hope that that this year’s Tour will further empower people to take charge of their nutritional intake and exercise regimen, so that they can enjoy the full benefits of a healthy, active life,” Mr. Valenzuela concluded.

1Herbalife’s Nutrition At Work Survey was conducted in March 2016, with 5,500 respondents aged 18 and above, from Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

How do I make my mom Happy on Mother’s Day?

My best mom, my mother dear :)

Hello world meet my mother dear, Alicia Ochea Centino. My mother is 64 years old right now and while the mother's day is approaching, I was thinking on how to make my mom Happy on Mother's Day.

My mother is always there for us even if we all have a family now, her responsibility as a mother didn't change. Though she's not with us because she is now in Mindanao, she still keeps on checking on us to see if we're okay. Mother always think of their children 24/7 that's why I'm so blessed to have her.

My mother is a reflexologist (a.k.a. hilot or massage) until now. Yep! kahit na matanda na sya, she's still working as a home service massage. This is the reason why I was able to finish my studies and help my siblings also. I will never forget when she's with me in 9 months here in manila. She's a very hard working woman, sometimes wala ng pahinga dahil sa daming costumer sometimes she got home at 2am or 3am tapos pagkagising may kakatok kasi may costumer na naman. I salute my mother kasi di sya nagdedemand if how much yong ibabayad sa kanya kung magkano lang yong ibigay sa kanya masaya na sya minsan yong mga mahihirap di nya na sinisingil kasi sabi nya yung skills nya binigay ni Lord kaya di nya kaylangan maningil ng mahal kung ano ang kaya ng bulsa ng costumer nya kontento na sya kahit maliit man ito or malaki what is most important to her  is yong pano sya makatulong sa kapwa nya.

No matter what, I always love my mother! Thank you mama for everything and for being a good mom for us. For all the sacrifices and those sleepless nights just to earn money for us, for her unconditional love thank you mother. We're so blessed because God gave us  a mother like her. For me there's no other mother like her.

This coming Mother's day I am thinking to give her a special date with my father. I am still praying for that and I hope we can make it.

Happy Mother's Day mama :*

ZD's 2nd Time Almost Convulsion Experience

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me".

~John 14:1

One night, my body wanted to sleep and rest so at 7:00pm my Zd and I were going to sleep. After our night routine, reading Bible story and praying, exchange words ("good night Zd", "good night mama", I love you Zd", I love you mama" and hug each other) I turned the lights off and had a good night sleep.

After eight hours of sound sleeping, at 3:00 am I noticed that my Zd bear keep hugging me and I was not comfortable. I felt that there is something wrong. I woke up and turned on the light, checked my Zd boy and to my surprise, he was chilling and very pale his red lips turned almost white and he had really dark eye bags. I checked his toes and feet, they were all pale!

While looking at my kid I remembered, when Zd experience this the first, my mother would just get the vinegar and put it on his whole body and under arms and after couple of minutes, I think it's about 5-10 minutes lumabas ang init ng katawan ni Zd bear at unti-unting nawala ang panginginig nya.

I thought that experience would not happen to him again, unfortunately, it did. I grabbed Zd boy immediately and got his Paracetamol on my medicine kit, I had no time to check his temperature. But sadly, we didn't have a vinegar! I wrapped Zd boy in a blanket and we went going outside at 3:am running to find vinegar. But I almost cried kasi sarado pa lahat ng tindahan at naalala ko na may tindahan pala na mas malapit samin. I knocked the door without thinking na makadisturbo ako, kasi ang iniisip ko is malagyan agad si Zd ng vinegar. I thanked God when the door opened. Nanay Kareng gave a vinegar and put it on ZD's body, after a few minutes unti unting lumabas ang init ng katawan nya at nawala na ang panginginig nya at unti unti nawala ang pamumutla nya.

After this experience happened, I thank God because He gave me wisdom to stay focused instead of panic. I knew what to do because of His guidance.

If you ask me why why my mother used vinegar before and why it worked? I have no idea. But this is amazing because it's proven and tested. Right now my Zd bear is okay and doing well.

The Word of God says that "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God;"

Did you experience that your kid is suddenly had convulsion? What did you do?
Thanks mommies for sharing!
