5 Things We Did in Davao for A Day

After 9 months of contract on board, finally my husband arrived home. After 1 week of rest he started with his training for his Marine Engineer license and thank God he got it after one month of training.
After 3 days we packed and prepared for our one month family vacation in Mindanao.

We all know that Mindanao is under Martial law. Marawi is just starting to get back on its feet and Cotabato is one of the places that's always on alert. Sultan Kudarat, on the other hand, is always in the news of bombing and of course the City of Misamis Occidental is one of the highlighted red alert before we left in Manila because of the killings of the Paroginog family and company.

In spite all that, we continued our with our plan to have our family vacation. " If there's a will then there is a way".

We arrived in Davao City at around 9:30 am. My friend Bobet, was the one who accompanied us from Airport to Sandawa Church to Abreeza Mall to Penongs Restaurant. Whew!

Yay! Welcome to Davao :)

Here's what we did during our "very" short stay in Davao

1. We Bought Vitamins for Zd in Mercury Drugs Abreeza Mall Davao
I asked them to drop by Abreeza Mall because we needed to buy Zd's milk and vitamins. While waiting, Zd boy enjoyed playing in Abreeza's activity play ground with other kids. Not only that,  Mommy Mundo has an event during that time!

2. Lunch in Penongs Barbeque Seafoods & Grills
After we bought the vit and milk, we headed to Penongs Restaurant - one of my fave restaurants in Davao because of their juicy barbecue and more Filipino home made foods.

Thank you to our couple friends Caroline & Bobet for their treat and generosity and also to kuya Libni and Haney for being there.

3. Walked and Talked in People's Park Davao with our Friends
After our lunch fellowship, we are headed to GV's Hotel to check in and take some nap because we're so tired and it's hot outside. We woke up around quarter to five in the afternoon and waited for our friends to fetch us in our hotel. People's park is one of the public parks in Davao and it's really nice. With our friends, we walked around the park and enjoying the breeze.

4. Dinner at Roxas Night Market and Bought Durian
Because I was craving for barbecue and the Roxas night market is famous for its with barbecues, foods, fruits and more, without any ado's dumiritso na kami from people's park.

After namin kumain sa Night market nag rest muna kami sa hotel, at habang nagpapahinga ayon pinapak na namin ang Durian na binili namin.

What I love about Davao is their Durian. Every time I go there, hindi talaga pwede na di ako makabili ng Durian at makakain lalo na si Lemuel na mas fond pa kaysa akin.

But honestly medyo kinabahan din ako sa place na ito kasi first anniversary pala nong binomba ang Roxas night market, pero sabi nila safe na ngayon at maraming mga sundalo and police ang nagbabantay and nag checheck na sila ng bags bago ka papasok sa entrance.

5. Midnight Snacks in Ice Giants
At dahil hindi pa satisfied ang tyan ko, sumaglit kami sa Ice Giants at nagpalamig muna kami.
We bought one bowl of Ice Giants halo-halo. their best seller which is good for 4-6 person.

  1. Wow, one month vacation, ang saya naman! I'm not fond of durian naman, maski nga candy hindi ko ma-take kainin. But I like suha from Davao, yun ang namimiss ko. :)

  3. Davao is a place I want to go to sometime in the future. :) I think when you are there, or at least for the people living there, tension is not felt. It's just on TV that things get magnified, but the place looks peaceful. :)

  8. I've been to Davao only once so far. Balikan lang din, as in one day lang because it was for work and I just had to attend a short event. The only place I was able to visit aside from the hotel is Jack's Ridge. Hope to go back soon coz my brother and his family are now based there.
